Unique Ecological Interpretive Trail

Perched high above the Au Sable River, the Iargo Springs Interpretive Area in Oscoda is one of northern Michigan’s most scenic and peaceful destinations. Visitors can descend a long wooden stairway to discover crystal-clear natural springs bubbling from the forest floor, connected by a series of boardwalks and platforms that make it easy to explore. Along the way, interpretive signs share the cultural and natural history of the site, from its role in Native American heritage to its unique ecological features. With sweeping river overlooks, tranquil trails, and the soothing sound of flowing water, Iargo Springs offers an unforgettable mix of beauty, history, and serenity.

PLEASE NOTE: Iargo Springs will close for a renovation project on October 1, 2026 and the site will not be accessible during the construction period that is anticipated to last through 2027.
